Match report Thatcham 3rd XI travelled to Wellington College and amid the beautiful surroundings Thatcham had the better end of a draw. Electing to bat Thatcham progressed somewhat unevenly to 239- 8 from 52 overs.
Martin Keeps (65) being the highlight of the innings with Paul Roberts (34), Louis Appella (34) supporting well and then Bob Sabberton (19 not out) and father John Sabberton (15 not out) taking the score to 239 -8. Veteran Tony Critchley (2-52) being the pick of the Eversley bowling attack.

A target of 240 from 48 overs was certainly achievable on such a good pitch and as Eversley cruised through the first 24 overs they appeared to be on top as they reached 81-1 despite an excellent opening spell from Jamie Bishop (1-15), however it was Dan Stephenson (1-37) who made the important breakthrough by clean bowling D.Howarth for a very assured (40).With John Sabberton (2-52) applying the brakes during his lengthy spell Thatcham then sensed victory as Eversley collapsed to 98-5, but teenager Shakir (44 not out) somehow kept the Thatcham bowling at bay and finished on 169-6.
