Match report Thatcham 'A' cruised to a comfortable 85 run victory over St Barts 1st XI on Wednesday evening.

Batting first, Thatcham's 125 for 4 owed much to a fine 107 run opening stand between Jim Ettridge (39) and Duncan Johnson (61), who both played well on a difficult track.

Madzala returned goods figures of 2 for 10 from his two overs and should probably have been given more bowling as he managed to dispose of former Pakistani Test batsman Ali Naqvi for 5.

In reply, the School never came to grips with the bowling of Naqvi (2 for 5) and Julian Wood (4 for 18) and when Daniel Stephenson replaced Naqvi to snap up 3 for 9 from his two over stint, it was then left to Chris Bird to polish off the last wicket, St Barts 40 all out in the 10th over.

Thatcham 'A' now progress to the Knockout Semi-Final whilst St Barts will enter the equivalent stage of the Plate Competition.
