Match report Thatcham 3rd Xi travelled to Slough and returned with a most emphatic 9 wicket victory.

Electing to bat Slough struggled against Dan Stephenson (3-23) and were soon reduced to 39-3. E.Hull (34) and M.Dhajan (30) led a recovery until the latter was bowled by Malcolm Bloor (2-18). Nic Monger (2-40) and Mike Hobbs (2-39) also picked up wickets with only an enterprising (27) from debutant F.Baig, taking Slough to a near respectable 164.


In reply Bob Gadsden (41) took the attack to the Slough bowlers and along with sloppy fielding Thatcham raced past 50. Once Gadsden had gone Jamie Young joined 3rd team debutant Brad Cottingham and together took Thatcham to victory as they cruised to their target. Cottingham was unbeaten on (57) and Young, again amongst the runs was unbeaten on (48).
