Match report Thatcham 2s travelled to Falkland on a sunny day, where Falkland won the toss and decided to bat first. Thatcham opened up the bowling with Matt Taylor And Tristan Allan, both bowled well but neither could get the breakthrough. A bowling change saw Nathan Redmond and Paul Holland saw Nathan pick up three wickets and Paul one. Greg Cooper came on and got two wickets but the key wicket was M Richardson which Nathan got but not before he scored 81. Eddie Wylie And Will Sharp bowled well and kept the run rate down until Tristan And Nathan finished the innings off well and so Thatcham kept Falkland down to 218 for 8 off 42 over's.

So Thatcham opened the batting with the experience of Paul Sharp and the 16 year old Tristan Allen. Both started off cautiously against tight bowling but even so after 10 over's Thatcham were 47 without loss. A change of bowling saw both players playing more expansively with Tristan playing all around the wicket and Paul hitting shots through the covers and over the bowlers head. When Paul departed for 38 Jack Young, another young gun at just 14 years old, joined Tristan. He also took his time to play himself in but once he was settled he also started to play shots as well. Tristan soon passed fifty with his four and then he really got going as his next eight scoring shots 4s.
So with Thatcham getting near the target, both batters were close to individual milestones, Jack going for fifty and Tristan getting near his first ever 100. It looked like it was going to be Jack to get his fifty but Tristan started playing some more shots and brought up his century and finished on an even 100 as the winning runs came with nine overs to go.

A big congratulations must go to a good all round team performance but especially to Tristan and Jack who batted well to get the runs we needed.
