Match report Thatcham made it two defeats in a row with defeat away at Basingstoke by 6 wickets.

Thatcham chose to bat first on a good wicket but were soon in trouble as early wickets fell at regular intervals.
Josh O’Flynn (21) was looking promising again, scoring runs with ease until he played one expansive drive too many and was caught. Wickets continued to tumble and at 70-8, Thatcham were in a lot of trouble.
With a mixture of youth and a lot of experience talented youngster Jack Young (21) and inform batsman Chris Bird (27 not out) put on a valuable partnership with some stylish stroke play.
When Jack Young was dismissed John Williams (26) came to the crease and played a fine innings with Chris Bird to bring Thatcham's innings to an end finishing with a little more respectability on 144.

In reply Thatcham got off to a good start taking some early wickets and giving some hope of victory. This was short lived as Woods (59) had other ideas and he punished Thatcham for failing to take the early chances he offered. When Woods was finally dismissed a lot of the damage had been done as Ali Waqui (3-59) finally got his man.

Thatcham continued to rally but Heylzger (45 not out) and Parsons (16 not out) controlled the innings and steered Basingstoke home to win by 6 wickets.
