Today TTCC Girls played in they're first tournament and first match this year.  Two wins out of Three was an excellent result.  A special mention to all the girls who played.  Results as Follows :- West Ilsley 261 - 0  Thatcham  250-1,
West Ilsley B  234 -1 Thatcham  259 - 2, Wokingham 235 -2 Thatcham 236-3.

 

A very young Thatcham Academy side, supported by a handful of seniors, started the Downs League season with a narrow defeat away to Wantage-based Metal Box.  The youngsters, featuring 10 yr old Rhodri Lewis who has recently made the Somerset county set up, as well as Jack Crowden (13), Jona Spriggs (14), Ben Denton-Powell (14) and Alex Wood (14) all impressed in the last over defeat.  Lewis bowled a very tight 4 over spell while Spriggs collected a fine 17 with wickets tumbling. 
The youngsters will next be pitting their skills against Harwell International at home on Weds 08/05 at 6pm

The recent AGM saw Matt Denness appointed as first team skipper for the 2013 season with Dan Stone stepping down to the vice-captaincy role. Steve Bird stays in charge of the newly promoted 2nd XI whilst Fred Bloor returns to the 3rd XI captaincy after Eddie Wylie's successful spell in charge. Nick Voller retains the 4th XI job.
Dom Melville joins the committee as secretary with Ian redmond stepping down for a well deserved break and Ian O'Connor takes over as Colts Chairman. 

Ian Redmond and Matt Denness shared the major club awards at the annual senior presentation evening on November 10th.
Ian was presented with the innaugural Robb Fraser Special Achievement Award in recognition for his many years outstanding contribution to the club whilst Matt picked up the coveted Clubman of the Year trophy. Congratulations to all winners and a special thanks to Lyn Pye and her team for all their efforts on the evening.
