Match report Thatcham III travelled to Beaconsfield III looking for a better performance from last week. After losing the toss and being put in Thatcham went about looking for a good start which they got in the form of the experience Malcolm Bloor (43) and Matt Watts (40) who put on 84 for the first wicket, both fell in quick succession so therefore with batting getting harder with the ball getting softer the run rate was slowing down. Everyone was contributing with the bat but Nathan Redmond came in and gave the innings a boost near the end with a score of 35 of only 22 balls to give a Thatcham a good score of 233 for 8 of their 52 overs.


Thatcham went into the field looking for quick wickets and they got them from Nathan Redmond (4-39) who got both openers with the score at 23 for 2. At this time two results were possible a draw or a Thatcham win. With some good defence and hard work from the batsmen it was only a draw with Beaconsfield ending up on 129 for 7 of their 48 overs. The other wicket takers were Malcolm Bloor and a run out from Matt Watts. The other bowlers especially Owen Jenkins were unlucky not to get any wickets.

A good all round team performance left us in good spirits and looking towards the next game against Barnes Wild Geese where hopefully the thirds can get their first win of the season.
