Match report Match abandoned due to bad light.

Visiting Thatcham won the toss and elected to field first. Paul Jenkins (13-1-70-0) and Rakesh Patel (11-1-58-3) shared the first 13 overs with little luck as Maidenhead’s openers amassed 78 runs. The introduction of Tim Mahoney (13-2-68-1) and Perry Moore (13-0-47-2) slowed the run rate slightly. After 39 overs Patel and Jenkins returned with Bray comfortable on 194-3. Despite two fine Gavin McDonald run outs, the home side totalled 263-8 from the maximum 52 overs.

Thatcham responded with Ivor Cottingham (21) and Gary McDonald (43) laying a solid foundation allowing Sidney Barnes (20) and Patel (38) to accelerate towards Bray’s total. However fading light cut short Thatcham’s run chase at 9.15pm with the ever impressive Tom Donnelly 17 not out and Thatcham in a good position to win. Damn.
