Match report Thatcham 3s played host to Hurst 2s looking for a good performance and result to match after 2 cancelled games. After winning the toss and putting Hurst into bat, Thatcham needed to get off to a good start and they did. With a brilliant bowling and fielding performance Hurst were bowled out for 87 with Tim Mahoney taking 7 for 43. Kevin Liversidge (1-31) and Ravi Mirchandani (2-10) getting the other wickets.

With a quick turnaround Thatcham went into bat looking for an early finish. With 15 overs until tea the home side had raced along to 5 for 1. Having set the platform for victory before the interval Malcolm Bloor (25 off 110 balls) and Rahul Mirchandani (39 not out off 150 balls) continued in the same positive fashion. When Bloor departed, Kieran Lynch (17 not out, 20 balls) played an astonishing innings in the circumstances to knock the runs off and ensure Thatcham reached their target just inside 50 overs.

So overall a good team performance to take into next weekend`s game against Theale.
