Match report TTCC v Kidmore End U11’s
With an under strength team Rhys Lewis took up the mantle as the U11’s Captain with 3 of our best player unavailable we were looking very weak. Kidmore End went into bat on a very hot Sunday morning 28c. Rhys Lewis and Louis Coltart opened the bowling both bowling at a good pace followed by Jamie Bovington and Patrick Slevin also keeping it very tight. With Clements hitting a ball square of the wicket and then trying to take a quick single Matt Cox quickly removed the bails for the first wicket followed soon afterwards by Jamie bowling Johnson for 7. The next 2 batsmen put up a good stand of 48 but under great pressure from Alex Price and Michael Slevin. Odhinn Moore kept up the pressure with 3 superb over’s (3-0-4-0). Before our opening bowlers came back on, Louis could not find his line but Rhys made up for it taking 2 wickets for 1 in the last over. This put Kidmore End on 79 after the 20 overs. A lot of praise should go to the fielding the best I have seen this season walking in, backing up and stopping the ball going for 4’s plus Matt Cox only letting 2 byes through, he is getting better in every match he plays. Well done lads.
With Louis and Rhys opening the batting they scored freely at break neck speed smashing 4’s of the bad balls and taking quick singles off the good ones. Rhys, had to retire on 27 in the 7 over followed by Louis 25 in the next over with a partnership of 69 coming to an end. This brought in Matt Cox and Nathan Johnson to finish the match off quickly with Thatcham reaching the Kidmore End total without losing a wicket. Great stuff!
