Match report Thatcham 3rd xi’s slim promotion hopes are now in the hands of other teams as they failed to win at Chiswick on Saturday.
Electing to bat Thatcham started well with Dave Taylor (50) and Josh Winfield (74) scoring 121 for the first wicket useful scores from Keiran lynch (17) Malcolm Bloor(24) and Tim Burnett(14) lifted Thatcham’s total to 226 all out from their allotted 52 overs.

With a strong bowling line up Thatcham were optimistic in dismissing the home side to gain a maximum of 25 points, but despite bowling well Thatcham failed to take a wicket unitil the 24th over through Gavin Ansell (1-29). Veteran Tim mahoneys (4-68) return into the attack sparked a mini collapse, However’ with very few overs left Chiswick in the end were comfortable in holding out for the draw on 202-8 leaving Thatcham frustrated knowing that results need to go their way next week to have any chance of promotion for the second season running.
