On winning the toss, Thatcham asked Finchampstead to bat.

Openers Matthew Eldridge and Mac Keast added 37 when Keast was caught and bowled Mike Green for 33. Eldridge and Tommie Predgen put together a meaningful partnership of 71 before Predgen was caught Steve Bartholomew off the bowling of Chris Bird for 42. 3 runs later Eldridge was caught Bartholomew off Nick Bishop for 54. Bird picked up the next 5 wickets for 30 runs, getting Ryan Quinn and Darron Augustus both stumped by keeper Jamie Young for 1 apiece. Phil West went caught Peter Spriggs for 0. Andy Lazenbury went lbw for 5 and Sean Woodward caught Bishop for 15. Bishop then cleaned up with Nick West being caught Green for 4 and Jed Crerar caught Jamie Young for 17. Thatcham had a stuttered start losing Spriggs for 4 with only 10 on the board caught keeper Crerar bowled Quinn. Bartholomew and Young reached 83 when Young departed caught Quinn bowled Lazenbury for 30. Tom Mahoney was lbw for 3. Jamie Young made 25 when he too was lbw bowled Lazenbury. Bartholomew was then run out for 46. Alex Wood was caught Predgen off Lazenbury for 1. Paul Hemming and Bird reached 174 with 1 ball left when Hemming was run out for 31. Green came in with 6 required off the last ball but was unable to add to the score finishing on 0 not out and Bird the other end 9 not out. Thatcham innings finished on 174 for 8 off 48 overs.
