Match report Another disappointing day in the office for Thatcham sees them propping up the rest of Thames Valley League 1 as Thatcham were brushed aside by previous bottom clubWokingham.

Wokingham won the toss and asked Thatcham to bat first. It was quickly apparent why they were asked to bat as the wicket was very quick and bouncy as Thatcham found themselves at 18 for 3 with in form batsman Daniel Stone And Ali Naqvi already in the clubhouse. A total collapse was averted with a fine partnership between Danny Williams & Steve Bartholomew which took the score to 100 before Bartholomew was caught behind for a well made 36. Another partnership between Chris Rochfort and Dan Williams gave Thatcham a small building block but just as a decent score looked likely Williams was caught for a seasons best 65 with Thatcham now 141-5 . Chris Rochfort soon gave way for 19 and it was left to Jason Williams to help the Thatcham tail wag. Unfortunately for him the trio of John Williams, Chris Bird And Nick Bishop all came and went and Williams was last man out for a more than useful 25 to leave Wokingham chasing 176 for victory.

Any hopes Thatcham had of a Wokingham collapse were soon dispelled as Wokingham raced into a commanding position and one that they never looked back on with Reddyhough the main stay of the Wokingham innings, scoring 90 and he was well supported by G Smith with 32. Wokingham reached their target in the 38th over for the loss of 3 wickets with John Williams the pick of the bowlers with 2-24.

Thatcham now have to pick themselves up with top of the table Burnham the visitors to Brownsfield.
