Thatcham Town Cricket Club Thatcham 1XI- Saturday v Kew on Sat 16 Jul 2011 at 1pm
Thatcham Town Cricket Club Lost by 135 runs
Match report
Thatcham continued their losing streak as they entertained Kew at home.
With the game being reduced to a 70 over match, Kew got off to a good start batting first with Friderichs (106 not out) and Lowe (50) putting on 129 before the first wicket was taken off the bowling of Chris Bird (1-38) in the 25th over.
John Williams followed in Bird’s footsteps and took 3-49 and with a liitle bit of luck could have had a couple more wickets as chances went down.
Dan Stephenson (1-36) returned to the attack and picked up a wicket to compliment his fine opening spell as Kew finished on 207 for 6 in their 37 overs.
As Thatcham set about chasing down the daunting score, Danny Williams was dismissed in the first over and was soon followed by Daniel Stone. This set the standard as wickets fell at regular intervals with Kew’s opening bowlers Dunn (4-28) and Thomas (6-37) doing all the damage.
Thatcham’s innings came to an end in the 27th over as they were bowled out for 71.
