Match report Thatcham played host to Barnes Wild Geese looking for their first win of the season.

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl, Thatcham were looking for early wickets and they got them through Tim Mahoney (5-64) and Kevin Liversidge (1-33). This left Barnes struggling at 80-6 but an irritating partnership was developing that Thatcham needed to break. The introduction of Ravi Mirchandani 3-5 in just five overs broke the partnership and they were soon all out for 144.

Thatcham went out into bat with Malcolm Bloor (76) and Matt Watts (14) having 54 overs to get the total needed for the win. After losing two wickets to leave the score at 48 for 2, Thatcham needed a partnership to calm the nerves and they got that with the experienced heads of Bloor and Billy Beaumont (30). After losing them in quick time it was left to youngster Adam Phillips (4 not out) to hit the winning runs in the 32nd over.

A good all round team performance left us with our first win of the season which will lead us into the game with Yatley 2s.
