Match report Thatcham got off to winning ways in thier last friendly against Cumnor.

Thatcham won the toss and elected to field first with conditions looking to provide assitance for the opening bowlers. A fine opening spell from Jason Williams (0-27) and Daniel Stephenson (0-18) put the visitors under pressure it and with a bit of luck might have picked up a couple of early wickets a piece.

The introduction of Jack Andrews (0-28) and new arrival of kiwi Scott Gibson (1-36) continued the standard set and made it very hard for the batsmen to score freely.
The spinning duo of Chris Bird and John Williams bowled well as a pair but, the batsmen took their chances as catches went down late in the innings.
Cumnor finished with a total of 235-3 in 45 overs.

In reply Thatcham didn't get off to the greatest of starts as they continue to lose wickets against the new the new ball.
Ross Schrieber (18) was looking to get himself into a bit of form with in-form batsmen Paul Jenkins (33) but, played a loose shot to a wide ball and nicked one behind.

With the score 36-3 Thatcham looked to be in a bit of trouble with a lot of work to be done. The arrival of talented all-rounder Jack Andrews (31) together with Paul Jenkins rebuilt Thatchams innings and produced a good partnership.
When Jenkins was dimissed, Scott Gibson (72) joined Andrews and the young pair showed maturity beyond their years and put Thatcham in a match winning position.

When Andrews went, this brought experienced all rounder Jason Williams to the crease and he produced an innings of controlled aggression mixed with subtle shots allowing the strike to be rotated on a regular basis.
These two batsmen produced the partnership to bring Thatcham within touching distance of the finish line but both fell in quick succession of each other. It was down to young Jamie Young (8 not out) and John Williams (6 not out) to finish the game off in fine style.
Thatcham finished on 236-7 in 42 overs winning the game by 3 wickets
