Match report Friendly matches on a sunny (if rather wind blown) spring afternoon are always played in a good spirit and this match was a friendly of the best quality - if you come from Theale that is!

Thatcham's bowling attack was very strong an although neither opening bowlers (Gavin Ansell and Tom Allison) took a wicket in the first 12 overs the score was only 50 when the first of them fell to Dom Melville with two more wickets falling quite quickly - another to Melville and one for Mark Gregory.
Ansell and Allison returning to finish off the tail with Gavin picking up both wickets.

Nathan Redmond and John Joel (a great catch by Tommy Mather) joined Mark with 1 wicket each before the Dominator got a third thanks to Steve Bartholemew behind stumps.

Theale's top scorer was Kasozimusoke unbeaten on 40 - Codd (39) close behind, Misra (a swashbuckling 31) and Kamaldin with 24 all played their part.

In return Thatcham did not do well Darren Sopp going for nought with the score on only 17 skipper Eddie Wylie though bought things back into line with a strong knock and the score was on 65 before the next wicket fell.
Wylie went on to form a partnership with young Tommy Mather - the 14 year old supporting the skipper all the way to Wylie's first half century a fine knock of 51 before being trapped LBW off the bowling of Misra.
Tommy then backed up Steve Bartholemew 's swift 22 (caught Misra bowled Dixon) before being trapped LBW to Misra for 17 another fine innings for the youngster.
There follwed a rather typical lower order collapse - first Redmond (caught Kamaldin bowled Dixon) for 4 then Gregory stumped by keeper Morris on nought.
John Joel did give some hope with a swift 18 not out but without support at the other end it all ended badly for Thatcham - a day in the windy sunshine best forgotten? - probably!
