Match report Cooper won the toss and decided to bat with Wylie and Denness opening the innings. Wylie started very aggressively scoring a quick 11 before being caught. Spriggs looked very comfortable at the crease until a yorker took his off stump out for 12. The Captain then joined the experienced Denness in the middle taking Thatcham onto 79 for 3. Denness was then joined by Lavender who both started scoring freely and pushing the score on, Denness reached his half century with lighting running between the wickets but attempting a square cut he got a bottom edge with the keeper taking a great catch to return him to the pavilion for 52. Young Denton-Powell supported Lavender (32) who carried on scoring quickly until smashing a ball to Long On boundary where he was caught with a one handed catch low to the ground, taking the total to 145 for 5. Steadman hit a 4 for his first ball before losing Denton-Powell (5). T. Mather came on for the last over seeing Thatcham to 149 for 6.
Cooper opened the bowling taking Warne with his 5 ball but Bucklebury then started to dominate the bowling with Steadman and Cooper both bowling well but could not get the break through. A. Mather, Melville, Wylie and T. Mather all without any luck. With the return of Cooper finally getting Binleys (71) middle stump and then Denton-Powell coming on at the other end for the 22 over he took Hunts (58) wicket and in his next over taking Kane (3) wicket but it was all to late with Mills hitting the winning runs putting Bucklebury on 151 for 4 after 24 overs.
