Thatcham Town Cricket Club Thatcham 1XI- Saturday v Chiswick & Latymer on Sat 22 Jun 2013 at 1.00pm
Match was Drawn

Match report Jonno's unbeaten 84 was the highlight of the day as Thatcham endured a frustrating afternoon, and a disappointing draw, against a resolute Chiswick & Latymer.
Following a lengthy delay due to a series of heavy showers, proceedings finally got underway with The Major and Den finding life tough against a decent opening spell from Asif (2-13) and the impressive Malik who despite an apparent inability to walk, somehow managed 16 quality overs on another fine Brownsfield surface.
With both openers departing early, Wrighty and Jonno set about rebuilding and other than a slight scare for DJ when a wayward waft excited everyone but the umpire, things began to look rosy for Thatcham.
As Den wiped away a tear at the sight of the change bowling, Thatcham were seemingly in total control but when Wrighty fell for a fluent 30, things started to unravel as the middle order crumbled. Jhanjhariyq (2-46) in particular caused problems and 95-2 soon became 108-7 as Jonno looked on in disbelief as the wickets tumbled around him.
Webs (12) steadied things briefly, but it was the arrival of Willo that finally provided the support that Jonno deserved as the pair got Thatcham back on track. Willo entertained hugely with his 19-ball 37, with the 'Will-Scoop' making its first appearance of the season, but it was Jonno that rightly received the plaudits as he finished unbeaten on 84 to see the hosts reach a par 196-8 from their 52 overs.
Chiswick’s reply started positively and with a couple of catches going to ground, they moved confidently along until Feral Gibson (2-39) dismissed opener Glover for a painstaking 5. The introduction of Webs (2-21) reaped immediate rewards as fellow opener Bhatia (35) fell to a sharp stumping - one of 6 dismissals for the Older Youngster in another solid display behind the stumps. Bungalow O'Flynn (3-24) continued his outstanding form with the ball to take care of the Chiswick
middle order and with plenty of overs to spare, it looked like the home side would be enjoying their Mexican Night festivities sooner rather than later.
Chiswick however weren’t prepared to roll over and with their chance of victory all but gone they battened down the hatches to frustrate the home attack. Chopra (12 not out) was particularly determined as the young tail-ender survived everything that Thatcham could throw at him and they eventually eased their way to safety to finish on 113-8.
