Match report Datchet won the toss and decided to bowl first on a very slow and low wicket. With a depleted batting line up Thatcham opened up with Roberts (20) and Stephenson (7).
With accurate bowling from Kenny (3-35) and Bellman (2-40) Thatcham struggled for runs. At 59-6 with Monger, Bloor, Redmond and Cruise all gone, it looked like an early finish. Wells (33) and Voller (70) who were both making their 1st visits of the season batted very sensibly, not taking risks but were proving very frustrating for the Datchet attack. When Wells was dismissed Thatcham were on 142 an invaluable partnership of 83. Thatcham finished their innings on 183-9. Voller with a brilliant 70 and Wells 33 were the stand outs.

After tea Thatcham opened up with Sabberton (1-25) and Voller (1-36) who bowled well with the old ball restricting Datchet to 23-2 off 10 overs. The game was anyone’s at this point. Thatcham took the new ball which seemed their downfall. Redmond and Cruise struggled for that consistency that was needed. Hagger (71) and Letegan (13) were using the new ball well and combined with the ‘drying’ pitch ultimately took the game away from Thatcham. With those two gone and at 131-4 the game was finely poised until White (42*) came in. He dispatched the bowl to all parts and Datchet won comfortably by 6 wickets.

Thatcham picked up 10 points while Datchet got 20. Thatcham are away to Eversley 3s next week.
