Match report The first game of the season a new division for the 3rd led by Tommy. The toss was won by North Maidenhead 3s who decided to bowl first. Rhys Williams opened up with Ben Denton Powell. Town lost Ben early for 4 also losing Michael Hobbs for 7 by a controversial decision from Matt clover giving out lbw which hit him high on the pads. Great partnership between Rhys and Chris Rochfort. Rhys played a great inning before getting bowled for 33. This let Chris and Alex Wood smash the ball to the fence with Chris reaching 50. After Chris reached the landmark he smashed his was to 93 before getting caught out on the fence. This left Alex Wood reaching 42 before getting bowled. It needed a late town finished which was completed through Joe Harwood hitting some great boundaries and having a go at the lighting quick skipper for running to fast between the wickets. With Joe great inning meant that town ended up on 231-9 47 overs. Town performance with the ball was up and down started so well with both Alex and Ben bowling great length with Ben bowling his best stuff in a 3s shirt. However the wickets went to Alex Wood who bowled with great pace ended up with 2 to his name . K. Rasib was batting well so the skipper felt that a change of pace was needed. With this in mind he brought on Jona Spriggs and himself. What a great decision it was Jona getting the dangerous K.Rasib for 93. It means the captain had to step his bowling up and he did. The skipper ripped through North Maidenhead middle order. The game had changed at this point it was both teams to win but town had the edge. It was a thrilling game to be part of. It came down to the last over it was intense cricket with North Maidenhead needing 5 of the last over with town needing one wicket. It was down to the skipper who had already picked up 4 wickets. The last over went for 3 but sadly the skipper couldn't pick up the last wicket. This meant that the score ended up on 229-9 which meant town was on the winning side of the draw.
What a great game to play in!
