Thatcham Town Cricket Club Thatcham 3XI- Saturday v Theale & Tilehurst II on Sat 10 May 2008 at 1.30pm
Thatcham Town Cricket Club Won by 3 wickets

Match report Thatcham 3rd xi kicked off their league campaign with a 3 wicket win over Theale &Tilehurst 2nd XI at Henwick.

Put into bat T&T found Michael Hobbs (2-54) a handful, but wayward bowling meant that T&T were always scoring at a decent rate as the middle order put the visitors in a good position. Skipper Malcolm Bloor then found the right line and length to whittle away at the T&T batsmen to finish with 5-38 as Theale & Tilehurst were bowled out for 221. Young leg spinner Nic Monger chipped in with (2-14).

In reply Bob Gadsden opening with Jamie Young gave Thatcham a great start against the more than useful Lemm (2-32) before Young fell for 26. Monger also batted well for (25) as both youngsters gave the perfect support to Gadsden who made a splendid (84). Nathan Redmond (24) and Bloor(18) took Thatcham to the brink of victory and despite a mini collapse the home side got home by 3 wickets.
