Match report Thatcham 3RD XI picked up their second consecutive win over a below par Hurst 2nd xi at Henwick.

Electing to bat the visitors lost a wicket without a run on the board to Nick Voller(1-35), but then a partnership of 116 between skipper Fillingham (37) and Lovegrove put Hurst firmly in the driving seat with the latter in particular despatching anything loose. Lovegrove finally departed for (76) falling to a quick bouncer from Nathan Redmond. Fillingham soon followed and with that the rest of Hurst’s batting to Redmond (4-14) and Nic Monger (3-44) as they closed on 154.

In reply, despite losing Iain Cottingham for a rapid (19), Bob Gadsden took Thatcham to a very comfortable victory with an imperious unbeaten (89) and with Monger completing a fine all round match also on unbeaten on (32) Thatcham cruised to an 8 wicket win.

Thatcham travel to top of the table Windsor this week looking to maintain their winning run
