Match report Thatcham 3RD XI travelled to top of the table Windsor on Saturday and ended up hanging on for a draw after, at one stage looking likely to cause an upset.

Windsor elected to bat, but play was soon held up by a heavy shower which was to the Thatchams bowlers advantage as the wicket livened up and in particular to Nathan Redmond liking. After reaching 50 for the loss of just one wicket Windsor slumped to 115-8 as Redmond caused havoc . Scott Martin then pulled things around for Windsor with an unbeaten 55 and with skipper Andy Doree 15 Windsor plundered 43 runs from the last 4 overs and finished on 182-9. Redmond manfully stuck to the task finishing with 6-97 from 25 overs,
ably backed up by Ravi Mirchandani 2-53 from 19 overs.

In response Thatcham lost early wickets, but Iain Cottingham (17) and then Mirchandani (29) gave the innings some stability, however a steady loss of wickets and with Martin bowling so miserly , conceding just 9 runs from 17 overs, Thatcham never seemed likely to reach the target. Michael Hobbs, not for the first time this season, batted with great maturity to score 32, but it was last pair Dan Stephenson and Nik Stewart to face the last few balls to see off defeat as Thatcham finished on 125-9.

Thatcham are at home to an inform Slough this week hoping to return to winning ways.
