Match report Thatcham 3RD XI collected another 25 point haul on Saturday following a 52 run victory over Eversley 3rd xi.

Again electing to bat first Thatcham opened up with Kieran Lynch (25) and Mike Hobbs and the two youngsters built a decent partnership, despite a brief wobble Thatcham were soon well beyond the 100 mark with only 2 wickets down with skipper Malcolm Bloor adding (30). Hobbs continued to impress before he was trapped LBW for a fine (62). Ravi Mirchandani and Tom Mahoney (31) continued the progress towards the 200 mark. Thatcham’s innings closed on 231-5 with Mirchandani unbeaten on (56). Youngsters J.GUY (2-28) and J. BERGER-NORTH (1-6) impressed most of all for Eversley.

In response Eversley found Dan Stephenson(3-38) in fiery form as he removed the first three batsmen with only 14 runs on the board. More wickets followed as Eversley were plunged into the depths of despair on 64-6, but veteran D.HOWART played with great calm and found an able partner in the impressive BERGER NORTH (25) as they added 85 for the seventh wicket until the latter was some what unluckily bowled by Nathan Redmond (2-52). Mirchandani then removed HOWARTH, but not before he had completed an accomplished (104). On his departure the tail fell quickly to Mirchandani (3-12) and Eversley were bowled out for 179.

This win now leaves Thatcham in 3rd spot just 2 points from a promotion place and so leading up to an exciting end to the season.
