Hurst v Thatcham Town Cricket Club Thatcham 1XI- Saturday on Sat 17 Jun 2017 at 1pm
Thatcham Town Cricket Club Lost by 8 wickets

Match report An inexplicably inept bowling performance from Thatcham handed victory to Hurst on Saturday in a hugely disappointing display that saw the Brownsfield side continue their inconsistent start to the season.
With the sun beating down and buoyed by the absence of Hurst's talismanic bowler Phil Higgs, Thatcham had no hesitation in batting first and despite the early loss of Kieran Wood to a rising Floyd Na Nagara delivery, the visitors soon settled into their stride.
Skipper Josh O'Flynn (50) survived a couple of early scares but ably supported by Steve Bartholomew (30) the two scored at will as Thatcham reached 100 inside 20 overs to set the platform for what should have been a competitive total. But as seen so often this season, Thatcham failed to capitalise as a familiar middle order collapse handed the advantage back to Hurst.
Whilst spinner Ijaz (5-52) took the plaudits, it was Na Nagara (3-57) that proved the pick of the attack, toiling manfully for a 19-over spell, and it was only when he finally took a well deserved break that Thatcham dragged themselves back into the game. Will Wright (25) and Alex Wood (27) added valuable late runs as Thatcham were finally dismissed for 197, a disappointing tally given the early promise but a total that should have at least given opportunity to put pressure on the Hurst batting.
Opting to take the old ball, Thatcham struck early through spinner Rhodri Lewis, but with Chris Bird uncharacteristically wayward at the other end, Thatcham failed to get off to the start they required.
Searching for wickets, O'Flynn turned to his seamers but the decision backfired dramatically as one after the next, the Thatcham quicks put in a performance best forgotten. In a combined spell lasting just 11 short overs, Thatcham shipped 106 runs - including 36 extras - as Hurst raced towards victory.
It was comfortably Thatcham's worst display of the season and whilst the Hurst pair of Alex Kayser (74 not out) and Na Nagara (54 not out) deserve full credit for talking ruthless advantage of the situation, they'll rarely be given such an easy ride from an opposition attack. Only Lewis (1-49) came away with any credit as the home side cruised home for the loss of just 2 wickets and with availability again an issue for Thatcham's trip to High Wycombe next week, they'll need to greatly improve if they're to get their topsy-turvy season back on track.
