Match report Thatcham continued their run of poor form losing their fifth game in a row by 98 runs away to High Wycombe 2’s
High Wycombe won the toss and chose to bat on the usual flat High Wycombe pitch.
Thatcham opened up with seamers Ryan Gilmour and Mike Green who struggled to contain Wycombe openers John Stevens and Gavin Baker it took a bowling change to break the opening partnership of 124, with spinner Chris Bird bowling John Stevens (51). Simon Janes joined Baker to take the score on to 191 when Baker (97) was caught by Green off the bowling of Peter Spriggs. Ryan Gilmour then bowled David Cranfield-Thompson (27), Janes (36) was next to go bowled Will Wright. Nick Bishop had Matt Pugh (1) caught by Jack Young. Anuraj Nair (26) was LBW Will Wright. Joe Dulieu (0) caught Jamie Young bowled Bishop, Bishop then had Andy Higgins (9) caught by Bird. Russell Curzon-Tompson (3) was the last wicket to fall bowled Bishop. Connor Haddow (19) and Sathees Chandrasegaram (1) remained not out as the score reached 296 for 9 off 50 overs. Thatcham had another poor start losing opener Ben Copeman (0) the third ball of their innings bowled Chandrasegaram. Jack Young (11) was next to go bowled Anuraj Nair. Jamie Young and Rhys Williams built a partnership of 27 before Williams was bowled by Chandrasegaram for 15, Jamie Young (9) followed caught Cranfield-Thompson bowled Nair. Tom Mahoney (1) was LBW Anuraj Nair. Ryan Gilmour and Peter Spriggs added 23 when Gilmour (12) was caught by Chadrasegaram bowled Conner Haddow. A meaningful partnership of 80 between Peter Spriggs and Will Wright was built which ended when Wright (33) was caught by Curzon-Tompson off the bowling of Baker. Bishop Joined Spriggs the pair added 32 until Spriggs (80) was bowled by Curzon-Tompson. Green and Bird both went without adding to the score. Bishop finished unbeaten on 5 Thatchams innings closed all out for 198 off 44.2 overs.
