Match report The two TTCC’s met at Teddington on Saturday and well fought contest finished in a draw with Thatcham 17 short of victory.

Teddington elected to bat first and made a quick start. Mitchell drove impressively and was well supported by Patel until Tom Mahoney came on to bowl in tandem with his grandfather, Tim. A tempting wide half volley was smashed toward extra cover where Danny Williams leapt high to his right to cling on to a fine one handed catch.
Mitchell passed 50 before the introduction of spin brought about his downfall as Perry Moore induced a miscue. Simmonds (43) and Gaitskill (44) kept up the tempo before both fell to Moore but with twenty overs left Thatcham were looking at chasing 300.
However Moore and John Williams managed to keep things tight for a few overs with Moore also picking up his fourth and fifth wickets. Dan Williams also bowled well at the end to collect 2-36 from eight overs and despite some indifferent fielding Teddington were held to 255 all out from 52 overs. Moore bowled a marathon 16 over spell and was rewarded with 5-78, a fine performance on such a small ground.

Five and a half an over was certainly gettable and Iain Cottingham and Dan Williams started sensibly against some accurate bowling. Both started to expand their games as they settled, putting on 69 in 20 overs before Cottingham fell for 29.
Tom Mahoney continued his fine form to take on a supporting role to Williams who was well into his stride, moving easily past fifty as Thatcham reached twenty overs to go with 128 needed. Mahoney fell soon after for 18 and Stuart Newman followed almost immediately but Rakesh Patel took up the attack, scoring 35 in a fifty partnership with Williams.
However, the run rate had crept steadily up as Teddington captain Mike Tamblingson bowled a cunning spell to the extent that 70 were needed from 7. Williams reached an excellent century and Robb Fraser offered brief hope with 14 from 7 balls but Thatcham could only reach the last over with 23 needed. Chris Rochfort improvised a boundary from the second ball but with 17 needed from 3 Williams finally fell going for a six for 115 and Thatcham finished on 239-6 with Tamblingson taking 4-56.
