Thatcham Town Cricket Club Thatcham 2XI- Saturday v Chalfont St.Peter on Sat 29 Aug 2009 at **12.30pm** Earlier start time
Thatcham Town Cricket Club Lost by 5 wickets

Match report Anothter defeat means Thatcham II’s are now likely to relegated to level four of the Thames Valley League.

The home side made a disastrous start against some fine bowling from Ahmed as they crashed to 19-6. John Williams and Robb Fraser played positively, adding 45 in seven overs when Williams got a little carried away and was gone for 22.
Edge soon followed before Perry Moore came in and smashed his first three balls for 4,4,6. The positive intent continued as Moore and Fraser added 46 in five overs before the captain fell lamely to Din’s first ball for 31.
The end soon followed with Thatcham all out for 112 leaving Moore 32 not out as Ahmed finished with 6-47.

Chalfont’s reply was given a flying start as they raced to 65 in just seven overs before Edmund Edge got rid of Din for 26. He followed that with two more and Williams and Daniel Stephenson added one each but with such a small target to chase Chalfont got home easily in 19 overs.

Another forty runs from Thatcham might have made the game interesting but the performance really summed up a season of disappointment.
