Match report Thatcham II’s finished their season as they had spent most of it- defeated. The wicket was far from good but it was a familiar story as several players got starts- Gavin McDonald (18), Stuart Newman (13) and Rakesh Patel, playing his final game for the club, 31, but no one went on as Thatcham slipped to 119-9.
Chris Rochfort then stepped up a gear and he found good support from Daniel Stephenson as the pair showed the way to those back in the pavilion. Rochfort passed his maiden Thatcham fifty and the pair had added 65 when Rochfort fell, for 65, trying to get up above 200. Stephenson finished on 16 not out as Thatcham were all out for 184.

With the wicket offering assistance Thatcham were in with a chance but the bowlers were unable to get the ball in the right areas often enough as Hayes made a solid start. Two wickets from Stephenson gave Thatcham a sniff at 39-2 but a 98 run partnership between Singh and Kumar put the game beyond them.
John Williams picked up both, for 30 and 80 respectively, and Rakesh Patel picked up a wicket in his final spell but Hayes got home with eight overs to spare.
