Match report Thatcham 3RD XI picked up a maximum 25 points at the expense of Chiswick & Latymer on Saturday with Josh Winfield being this weeks star. Electing to bat Thatcham made a sound start through Iain Cottingham and Bob Gadsden before the latter was caught mishooking. 15 year old Josh Winfield then strode to the wicket having been promoted up the order and quickly sought to attack and promptly hit the visitors attack all round the ground as his senior partner gave him steadfast support. Winfield fell for a career high (76) and then Cottingham for (56) which spared a mini collapse, but Malcolm Bloor (32)notout and James Meagrow (17 not out) scored 46 runs in the last 6 overs to take Thatcham to 234 -7 from 52 overs.

In reply Chiswick progressed slowly against Gavin Ansell (4-57), but the home side bowlers were wilting in the sun and it was only when Eddie Wylie (3-27) was introduced that Thatcham took the initiative. Visiting skipper Simon Barnes managed to hold out for 25 overs for his unbeaten 43 as it took Thatcham 15 overs to capture the final wicket with Chiswick finally being dismissed for 194. Natham Redmond (2-42) being the other wicket taker.
