Match report On a wet and miserable day at Henwick a very different looking Thatcham side to what pulled of a great victory against Slough the week before were comprehensively beaten by Datchets third team.

After a morning where no cricket looked possible due to the wet conditions Datchet’s skipper won the toss and decided to bat, play getting underway only 15 minutes behind schedule. Things started well for the Thatcham side, full of confidence after last weeks brilliant comeback, as Paul Holland dismissed Edwards (1) in the third over, caught at square leg by Tom Owen. However, after this they found wickets very difficult to come by as the Datchet side batted around hard hitting opener Platt who went on to score an unbeaten 121 out of Datchets score of 237 for 6 declared from 46 overs.

After the tea interval things again looked good for the home side as Stone and Stevenson kept the score board ticking along nicely. However, once Stevenson (18) was caught, wickets began to tumble at regular intervals as the Thatcham batting order struggled to cope with the accuracy of Abramson (18.1 overs, 7 wickets for 52 runs) as only Micky Stone (35) could manage to score any runs of note. Cooper (12) was the last man to go as Thatcham were bowled out for 110 inside 37 overs.
